Jiu Jitsu as a Means to an End

Jiu Jitsu as a Means to an End

“There is no one here training at our academy with the end goal being only to improve their jiu jitsu . Obviously, we all want to get better. And this is my goal: to have you learn and improve in your jiu jitsu. However, jiu jitsu is just a piece to the bigger picture. It is a tool to improve and grow in other areas of our lives. Seeing all my students progress and achieve their personal goals from one day to the next is the most rewarding thing. The jiu jitsu journey is painful and tough physically, but even more tough mentally and emotionally. To maintain and continually push through the ups and downs is the challenge. It is in this consistency and perseverance where we achieve our goals and progress on and off the mat.” – Professor Tony Passos, during Friday’s class
