The first day of the IBJJF Atlanta Summer International Open is going great. Congrats to Professor George Wehby for taking second today on the black belt division! It was great to see him come back so strong to competition. His dedication to Jiu Jitsu and putting his skills to test in a high-level tournament is very motivating and inspiring to all of us at Team Passos.
Tomorrow we have a few of our other teammates will be competing.
Today Professor Tony Passos received his 3rd stripe as BJJ Black Belt from Professor Andre Galvao. Nine years ago Professor Tony received his black belt from Professor Ricardo de la Riva and his passion for BJJ is as strong as ever. Parabéns por este dia especial!
“When I shake hands, I can’t wait for my partner to start the match. I can’t zombie walk…like a mummy. I just have to go…
The first 10, 15, 20 seconds are very important for the match because it is going to tell you if you are in a good position or not. You need to start out faster sooner and be in a good position sooner. Being low energy is not going to work. You have to be high energy. Rolling in intervals allow you to push harder during the match. Start fast.”
Join us in welcoming our newest Team Passos affiliate, The LionHeart Academy. Owner and Head Instructor, George Wehby is a black belt under Professor Tony Passos. Congratulations on your grand opening in Hoover, Alabama!
