This week we covered the details for taking the back and establishing control from several positions. As with any other type of control, our primary objective is focus on the GAP. In order to control the GAP from the back we apply three rules to control the position:
  1. Hooks in: You want to ensure you have both feet hooking over your opponents legs with your heels clamped down tight
  2. Chest on back: Place your chest squarely against your opponent’s back so there is no space and your opponent is unable to get their back free
  3. Ear on ear: With your hooks in place and chest on your opponents back, you want to put your ear against your opponent’s ensuring your head is adjacent to your opponent’s head
